Matthew McElroy, PA-C, is very excited to provide whole person health care with an emphasis in evidence-based medicine to Black Canyon Community and the surrounding communities of Arizona. After Matthew earned his bachelor’s degree from Tabor College in 2015, he completed his Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies from A.T Still University and immediately returned to BCCHC to focus on Family Medicine in 2021. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys exercising, golfing, participating in church, and cooking.

Jodi Palmer, FNP, was born and raised in Arizona. She is married and has three wonderful girls.
Jodi would like the patients to know that her role as a family nurse practitioner is to help each patient as an individual. In doing so she strives to form an understanding of each patient to better serve their individual needs and work together to reach their optimal health. Jodi has been practicing in a primary care setting for nearly ten years and is always ready to to whatever needs done to take care of her patients.

Isabella Quezada, PA-C, was born and raised in Arizona. She completed her bachelor’s degree in biology from the Grand Canyon University Honors College. She continued her education at A.T. Still University and earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Isabella has a passion for whole person health care and is committed to working alongside her patients to improve their health and well-being. With a focus in Family Medicine, she looks forward to providing excellent patient care in Black Canyon City and the near communities. Outside of medicine, she loves to exercise, spend time with loved ones, try new restaurants and travel!

Alexa Scanlan, PA-C, is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant with experience in both Family and Emergency Medicine, Alexa is passionate about helping patients build a strong foundation for lifelong health through compassionate, relationship-centered primary care. Inspired by personal experiences navigating healthcare within her own family, she is dedicated to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care while serving as a trusted advocate for her patients and their families. Outside of the clinic, Alexa enjoys gardening, fostering kittens, and spending time in Dewey with her husband, young son, and family cat.

Randall Goodfriend is a Licensed Professional Counselor with twenty-five years of licensed independent practice and is our new Mental Health Counselor at Black Canyon City Medical Clinic. Randall has worked in rural settings for many of those years and is uniquely aware of the dynamics and challenges of practicing in a small community. Randall brings a wealth of experience to our Clinic and has worked with patients as young as three years of age and as old as ninety-three. Randall moved to Arizona in 1999, settling in Black Canyon City, to continue his studies in psychology in Phoenix. Since that time, he has been active in our community, joining various organizations.
